1. What is Mindfulness?

It’s like carrying around a sack of rocks on your head. It feels good to put it down.
-Jon Kabat Zinn

Mindfulness is a simple yet powerful technique to ease our distracted and struggling state of mind. It’s nothing mystical, nor is it an exercise to “empty your mind” or “stop your thoughts”, which are impossible anyway. Rather mindfulness helps you slow down and connect more fully with the present moment, cutting through the aggressive speediness of anger.

By becoming more connected with your self and the world around you, your tendency towards anger eases, and you discover a source of relaxation, openness, and strength.

2. How is the Mindfulness Approach Anger Management™ program different from other programs?

A problem with many anger management programs is that they present lots of information but offer little in the way of process. Also most programs are organized around the information rather than the user experience, so exercises are presented sporadically, which is makes it unlikely you’ll do them. Lacking a structured program, most of us have a difficult time following through and accomplishing the work.

With this in mind, our program was designed to be super user friendly, so that you will actually do it. The processes are presented in a consistent and easy to follow manner. The daily and weekly plan is clear, so you can look ahead and make room in your schedule. Also the time commitment is reasonable: thirty to forty minutes a day, four or five days per week, plus a one hour workshop module each week.

3. Is your program set up for court ordered anger management?

No. Courts require that programs deliver specific, prescribed information, and you are required to write a test to show you’ve read the information. The Mindfulness Approach Anger Management™ program isn’t set up for tests, rather it engages you with your life over an eight week period to create deep and lasting change.

4. How does the program work?

Mindfulness Approach Anger Management™ integrates mindfulness practices and anger management exercises in an engaging eight week program. During the eight weeks you’ll work with three types of processes:

  1. Anger management awareness practices help you undo the patterns keeping you stuck in anger, and teach you healthier ways of responding and acting in your life.
  2. Sitting mindfulness meditation helps you ease your struggling mind and discover a source of clarity and well being.
  3. Body mindfulness practices help you become a more relaxed, confident, and fully embodied individual.

In addition, the program helps you to:

  • become more familiar with why you get angry
  • better deal with uncomfortable feelings and difficult life situations
  • create more harmony in your marriage and other relationships
  • successfully navigate a separation or divorce
  • resolve conflicts in your workplace

5. Is there any research on mindfulness and anger management?

Yes there is extensive research showing that mindfulness helps with anger management in a variety of ways. Hundreds of studies show that mindfulness decreases rumination associated with anger, develops greater cognitive flexibility, strengthens the ability to regulate emotions, increases self awareness and self esteem, results in a greater sense of well-being, and improves overall satisfaction with life.

6. Is is safe to make an online payment? How secure is your payment system?
